By October 1977, the group disbanded as a mixed group and reorganized as an all male quartet. The new Joymasters were Billy Manous, Jerry Forrester, Barry Forrester, Matt Burgess, Mike Bailey, Billy Forrester, Glen Grigsby, Doug Godfrey and Don Williams.

It is our desire that you pray for us as we continue our journey wherever the Lord leads and that people will be touched as we move into the years ahead. May we always be found in the center of His will, Singing Until He Comes.

God Bless,

The Joymasters

The Joymasters began their music ministry in 1968, with Bob Bailey singing bass, Ardelle Bailey singing alto and playing piano, Bobbie Forrester singing lead and Jerry Forrester singing baritone. Bob and Ardelle's son, Mike, played bass guitar. They believed they were doing what God called them to do.

The quartet and band has had many members through the years and in 2006, the Joymasters were blessed to acquire a new bus to accommodate all the equipment used in today's services.  The current quartet and band consist of members Jeff Vinson -tenor, Tim Jennings - lead, Billy Forrester - baritone, Eric McVey - bass, Matt Burgess - piano, Barry Forrester - bass guitar, David Forrester - drums, Miles Burgess - musician, Steve Garland - lead guitar, John Foster - sound.

In a Gospel music world where groups often sing with pre-recorded tracks, there still exists originality: a group who sings with live musicians playing as their backup. For over 50 years, the Joymasters have stayed true to their foundation. A foundation built on the desire to deliver God's message through the gift of music. Never succumbing to the industry's evolution to the modern business principles of “hiring out”, The Joymasters continue to go wherever they are requested. They have no monetary prerequisite, no booking fee, only the undying total trust in the Lord to provide the blessings necessary to continue their ministry.

The group had been traveling in a Chevy van but was out growing it. In 1970, after much prayer it was decided to purchase a bus. In April of the same year the group recorded their first album, "Sweeter Gets the Journey", and would spend the next seven years ministering to churches, revivals, brush arbors, tabernacles and to any other venue the Lord led them. Their desire was to always be a blessing and share the message of God's love to a lost and dying world.
