Matt was born and raised in a Church of God pastor's home. He first joined the Joymasters in 1977 where he played lead guitar until 1979. He obtained his business degree from Reinhardt University and then attended Lee University where he studied theology. Matt became a licensed minister in 1980 and served the church full time through out the southeast until 2007 as youth pastor, minister of music, associate pastor, senior pastor and ordained bishop. He rejoined the Joymasters in 2013 and resides in Ball Ground Georgia with his wife of 37 years.

John is married to Debbie and lives in Marietta, GA.

When the band starts playing, four voices blend in harmony and bring the presence of the Lord into the venue. A solitary figure sits in the back of the room. A big man, with a big heart working the board and enhancing the sound quality. You might not know it when you first meet him, but Jerry Forrester is the root of the Joymasters. In 1968, the legacy began with four voices, and of the original four, Jerry has remained constant. When asked what his major musical influences have been, his reply is simply, "all gospel music". Why does he continue to manage the group after all these years? It's an undeniable love of travel and a passion for gospel ministry. But, most importantly, to be a witness of the countless lives that have been changed and souls that have been saved as the Joymasters spread the word of God through their music.

Eric grew up in Ellijay,Ga, where his folks still reside, but these days he, his beautiful wife Lisa, daughter Kristen, son Kyle, live in Ball Ground, Ga. He started singing at a very early age and has been around Southern Gospel Music all of his life. Eric says he loves the ministry the Joymasters have always promoted and he is very proud to have had a small part of it since 2006.

Barry is an original Joymaster, is married to Andrea and lives in Canton, GA

Steve plays many instruments, is married and lives in Waleska, GA.

Tim now resides in Canton with his son Ryan and daughter Christina. Tim was married to his wife Debbie for over 25 years until she received her ultimate healing in 2014. Tim has been singing with the Joymasters since 1983 and says he has enjoyed every moment of it. The most rewarding part of this ministry is when he sees someone come to the altar to make it right with God.

Billy lives in Canton, has been married to his lovely wife Lisa for over 25 years and has a beautiful daughter named Amber. Billy was raised around southern gospel music since the age of 5 years old and traveling is all he knows. Billy was saved when he was 10 years old and wouldn't trade all the years traveling and seeing souls saved for the world. Thank God I'm Free!! Billy
